Tadley Calleva Reserves reach Hampshire FA Saturday Trophy final
Thames Valley Premier League side Tadley Calleva Reserves are into the final of the Hampshire FA Saturday Trophy.
They beat Ringwood Town Development 4-2 in their semi-final, despite being 2-1 down at half-time.
Charlie Cunningham, Cam George, Harrison West and Bailey Roffey all scored to seal their side’s place in the final.
They’ll face Fareham-based side Crofton Saints, who beat Colden Common 5-4 on penalties to reach the final.
The clash will take place at Stoneham Lane Football Complex, the Hampshire FA’s HQ, on May 13th at 7:45pm.
Back in league action, it was a day to forget for Newbury Football Club.
The bottom club travelled to midtable Holyport Reserves, losing 6-0 at Summerleaze Park.
Nathan Lishman and Joe Brinsden both scored twice, while Liam McVicar and Freddie Lewendon also bagged.
Newbury have just four points to their name this season and travel to Slough Heating Laurencians on Saturday, who themselves have just six on the board with two games in hand.
A win would see Newbury move above last place for the first time in months.
Sixth placed Burghfield lost their clash away at league leaders Westwood Wanderers.
Harrison Luffrum scored twice for the visitors, before Devonn Reid grabbed a third and Jordan Webb got Burghfield’s consolation.
In Division One, league leaders Goring United beat Yateley United "A" 2-1 away from home.
Tom Heslop and Archie Helas got the goals for Goring, who have lost just once this season.
Elsewhere in the division, Mortimer Reserves and Burghfield Reserves met at Alfred Palmer Memorial Playing Fields.
Seventh placed Mortimer opened the scoring through Graham Lewis, before ninth placed Burghfield equalised in the 92nd minute thanks to Ben Storey.
In Division Two, AFC Aldermaston Reserves had a tough afternoon at home to Berks County Reserves.
Joshua Theobald scored a brace, before Matt Panton and Josh Phillips made it four.
Denzel Uvetie grabbed a consolation to reduce the score to 4-1, leaving his side fifth in the league.
