Former Liverpool winger Jordon Ibe signs for Hungerford Town
Hungerford Town have announced the signing of former Liverpool and Bournemouth winger Jordon Ibe.
The 29-year-old most recently spent time with Isthmian League club Hayes & Yeading United.
He joins Hungerford on a deal until the end of the season, as the club look to battle their way up the table.
"Thank you to Hungerford Town for taking me in and believing in my dream,” Ibe told club media.
"It is time to buckle down and show the ability that I still have.
“With hard work, it can take you anywhere."
"I am absolutely delighted to welcome Jordon to Bulpit Lane,” manager Danny Robinson said.
“Jordon comes to us with a massive pedigree and wealth of experience.
"By his own admission he wants to get back going again and we will be doing everything we can to get him smiling and enjoying his football.
“A serious talent that we are all looking forward to seeing in a Hungerford shirt. Welcome Jordon!"
Ibe started his career with Wycombe Wanderers, becoming their youngest-ever Football League player when he debuted as a 15-year-old.
He joined Premier League Liverpool in 2011 for an undisclosed fee, making his debut against Queens Park Rangers in 2013.
He started the game and assisted Philippe Coutinho for the winning goal.
He’d go on to play 41 times for the Reds, while spending time with Birmingham City and Derby County on loan.
In 2016 he moved to Premier League club Bournemouth for £15 million, signing a four year contract.
He made 78 appearances for the Cherries, scoring three times before his release in 2020.
Short spells with Derby and Turkish club Adanaspor followed, before spells at Ebbsfleet United and Hayes & Yeading.
Ibe has represented England up to U21 level and played in the Europa League during his time at Anfield.
Hungerford manager Danny Robinson will be hoping to unlock some of Ibe’s considerable talent, as his side continue their march up the Southern League Premier Division South, English football’s seventh tier.
