Young triathletes raise five-figure charitable sum at Bradfield College Schools Triathlon
One thousand young triathletes have raised a huge sum for charity.
Pupils from 26 local schools came together at Bradfield College to take part in the Knight Frank Schools Triathlon on Sunday, May 19.
In teams of four, pupils ran, swam and cycled the distance between Bristol and Barcelona, raising more than £87,358 for global youth charity Restless Development and numerous other charities chosen by the participating schools.
Mayor of Newbury Andy Moore attended the event and handed out medals to finishers.
More than 2,000 attendees and local businesses attended the competition, part of a national series organised by Restless Development.
This year, 10,000 pupils are expected to raise more than £1m for more than 100 charities.
Bradfield College has hosted the competition since it began in 2015.
The college thanks all the volunteers and sponsors who supported the event, including Knight Frank, Bentley Motors and Neilson Beach Holidays.
