Thatcham makeup artist named Wedding Makeup Artist of the Year at just 22

A makeup artist from Thatcham has been named Wedding Makeup Artist of the Year for the whole of the UK at 22-years-old.

Ruby Baron picked up the national award at The Wedding Industry Awards held at The Underglobe, London last Wednesday (January 22) after winning in the South Central region.

“It was a very, very big accomplishment,” she said.

Miss Baron has already catered for hundreds of brides across the UK, from TikTok stars to Olympians, just three years into her career.

And explaining the impact the award has had on her business, she added: “It's definitely already had a massive impact.

“I've had a huge influx of inquiries so it's definitely got my name out there.

“And I'm starting to be recommended through people, which is lovely.”

Her win was based on client votes and decided by a panel of expert judges.

“I'm mostly mobile but I do have a little bit of a studio space where I'm able to meet my clients,” she continued.

“You'll mostly find me on social media quite a lot; that's where I get most of my bookings from.”
