Reacting to the news, headteacher Melissa Fry said: “I am so proud of our amazing artists.

“The whole school art gallery has been created with fantastic flower art work from every child.

“Like the flowers, we want all pupils to bloom into their full potential and let their light shine brightly for all to see.”

The four other schools taking part include Brookfields, Englefield, Birch Copse and Whitchurch.

Rotarians are also calling for sponsors to provide prizes for the schools competition and to sponsor artists boards.

Proceeds from the exhibition will go to Brookfields School, for pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties and autism, in Reading, and Bridge for Young People, a charity supporting 16- to 25-year-olds who are leaving care or have been made homeless.

Some proceeds will also contribute to the club’s charity fund, used to back local, national and international causes.
