Yellow weather warning issued for West Berkshire with snow and ice expected
Some disruption is expected due to icy surfaces, with snowfall in a few places.
Weather warnings have been expanded into parts of London and South East England, including West Berkshire, where an area of ice and snow is expected to persist until at least noon today (Sunday).
The UK will stay cold through to next week with the risk of sleet and snow continuing, with severe overnight frosts in certain areas.
The public are urged to proceed with caution due to the increased chance of injuries from slips and falls caused by ice patches on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths. In a few areas, difficult travel conditions may occur quite quickly due to heavy sleet, snow or hail showers, making surfaces slippery or even snow-covered.
Frequent wintry showers are likely to fall onto frozen surfaces, leading to the formation of icy patches. These showers are expected to fall as snow on high ground, with the potential for several centimetres to accumulate.
