Thames Valley Police appeal for witnesses to A34 crash




Police are appealing for witnesses after a car crash on the A34 near Newbury left a woman with life threatening injuries.

At around 10.55am yesterday (Friday), a white HGV and a pedestrian were involved in a collision on the southbound carriageway of the A34 between the A339 and the A4 Bath Road.

The pedestrian, a woman in her sixties, sustained serious head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in a "life threatening condition".

The driver of the HGV was uninjured.

Investigating officer PC Ian Baldwin said: "e are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please come forward.

"Also, we’d ask any drivers with dash-cams to check any footage in case it may have captured something that could help the investigation."
