Newbury woman Sharon Repton denies assaults and racist offence




A WOMAN is to go on trial accused of assaults and racist aggression.

Sharon Repton appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 28.

The 40-year-old, of Austen Gardens, Newbury, faces five charges in total.

Ms Repton is accused of assaulting Taslim Khan by beating her.

She is further accused of assaulting Kousar Khan by beating her.

Next, Ms Repton is charged with assaulting Mahboob Khan by beating him.

She is then accused of threatening to burn down the home of Kousar, Taslim and Mahboob Khan, intending them to fear it would be carried out.

Finally, she is charged with a racially aggravated offence of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause Mahboob, Kousar and Taslim Khan to fear that violence would be used against them.

All the above offences were said to have been committed in Woodley, Reading, on February 15 last year.

Ms Repton, who was legally represented by Nathaniel Ikeazor, spoke only to confirm her details and to plead not guilty to all the above charges.

She was told the case could proceed no further that day and that it would be adjourned for a trial to ber arranged.

Ms Repton was meanwhile released on bail with conditions.
