Pop star Will Young to host Newbury Soup Kitchen fundraising event at The Vineyard, in Newbury

Singer Will Young is preparing to host a fundraising event in aid of Newbury Soup Kitchen.

CEO and founder of the charity, Meryl Praill, said she was excited to announce the news of the event, which will be held at The Vineyard on Friday, November 18.

There are still tickets available for the night, which includes a black tie dinner, entertainment, auction and raffle.

It will also see Rob Rinder as auctioneer and compere for the night.

A sparkling wine and canapé reception will begin at 7pm, followed by a three course sit down dinner with complimentary wines.

Newbury Soup Kitchen, of which Mr Young is patron, provides a broad spectrum of healthy food provision and outreach for those in need in West Berkshire.

Homeless prevention is becoming a large part of the charity’s work, as well as working with homeless individuals and people struggling to cope day-to-day.

Mrs Praill said the charity’s long term goal is to open a community support centre, which would be a one-stop shop with all-round collaborative services from statutory bodies, as well as charities.
