Play area repairs at Lamb Close Play Area and Dunston Park get the green light
Play area repairs have been given the green light.
Thatcham Town Council’s recreation and amenities committee approved a proposal for repairs to Lamb Close Play Area and Dunston Park Play Area.
It approved a £2,746 spend on replacement bearings on a multi-play unit at Lamb Close and a further £1,635 expenditure on safety resurfacing – in the form of a mulch top-up – at Dunston Park.
Both repairs had been identified as ‘medium-high risk’ in an annual play area safety inspection.
The total £4,381 spend is coming from the council’s reactive maintenance budget.
Committee chairman Tom McCann (Lib Dem, Thatcham Central) said: “Why wouldn’t we try to maintain our children’s play areas to the best of our ability?”
