What to do in West Berkshire and North Hampshire: Rathayatra festival, Retrofest, flowers shows and markets

Friday

Come and meet Doh Doh at The Entertainer, Parkway Shopping, Newbury, 10am. He will be making appearances between 10am-4pm (10am, 11am, noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3. 30pm).
Woolhampton Annual Show, Woolhampton village hall, public viewing 2pm-4pm. Categories include fruit and veg, flowers, preserves, cookery and art. Refreshments available.
Burghclere flower show, The Portal Hall, Burghclere, 2pm. Flowers, vegetables, cookery, children's classes. Music by Add Hock. Prizegiving at 3.45pm. Refreshments, raffle, plants, skittles and auction of produce. Free admission.
Hop Dog Festival, The Plume, Hungerford, 1pm to late. Live music, proper ale/cider and sausage festival.
Allotment Open Morning, Pangbourne Allotments, Pangbourne, 10am-12noon. Open to anyone interested in an allotment, want a chance to buy some of our homegrown produce or just want to have a look around. There will be refreshments, a produce stall and guided tours of the plots.
Rathayatra, Victoria Park, Newbury, 12noon-5pm. Free yoga activity family day. Yoga, dancing, chariot procession and food. Fun for the whole family
Sunday
Tadley 10K and 3k Fun, 10am, Hurst Leisure Centre, 10.30am. Online entries close midnight Thursday, August 11. On the day entry will be £5 extra for the 10K and £2 extra for the 3K Fun run. Raising funds for local community sports facilities at the school. https://my.raceresult.com/195484/info
Antique & Brocante Style flea market, Shaw House, 10am-4pm. Antiques, vintage and retro decorative arts and bric a brace on the front lawn of Shaw House. 40 plus stalls.
Hungerford CC 6 a side tournament, 12noon. Barbecue and bar open all day. All welcome.
Uplift Dance – Amazing August, Goldwell Park, 9am-10.30am. Wearing silent disco headphones and immersed in your own movement, this free form dance party promotes exercise and positive connection with others and the outdoors. Suitable for ages 14 plus. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult. Prebooking essential from the Corn Exchange.
South Berks Concert Band, Bictoria Park bandstand, Newbury, 3pm-5pm.
Burghclere miniature train family day, Burghclere Sport & Recreation Club, 12noon-4pm. Refreshments, train rides.
Wednesday
Outdoore theatre: Rapunzel, Shaw House, gates open 5pm, performance 6pm. A brand-new musical adaptation of the classic fairy tale, Rapunzel. Laugh out loud script, heaps of audience interaction, a host of catchy songs, unforgettable characters, and maybe even the odd water gun or two. Performance approx. 1hr 35 mins (plus 20 minute interval). Please bring your own seating/rug, warm clothes and picnic. The café will be open selling snacks, drinks and ice cream.
