The Great Aurochs Hunt. Part of RENEWAL Community Project, at Riverside Youth and Community Centre, Rosemoor Gardens, Newbury, 2.30pm to 4.30pm. Join the hunt for Arthur the Aurochs, a prehistoric animal who once lived in Newbury. Games and prizes for children aged five to 12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free.

Berkshire Walkers (20-30s). Broad Hinton 11 mile moderate walk shared with the Brunel 20s and 30s group. Meet at start point near the Crown Inn pub in Broad Hinton (grid ref SU 105 765 or postcode SN4 9PA) for a 10.30am start. To get there, pick up the A4361 south of Swindon, follow signs to Broad Hinton, eventually taking a right into the village, and park considerately in the village. Pub is at end of road and left at T-junction. Car share where possible as parking is limited. The walk includes farmland, a couple of villages, steep incline to join the Ridgeway, a white horse and excellent views. Pub stop at end of walk possible depending on timing.
