Friday

Disco night, Royal British Legion, Newbury, 8.30pm, free.

Saturday

Hewins Wood Farm open day and craft fayre, Ashampstead Road, Bradfield, 10am to 2pm, free.

Plenty of local and independent businesses will have trade stalls at the event.

Butterfly walk, Silchester Common and Pamber Forest, 10.30am, free.

The Upper Thames Branch of Butterfly Conservation is holding the guided walk to look for butterflies and day-flying moths on the common and in the forest.

Woolton Hill Summer Fair, St Thomas’ Church, 2pm to 4pm, free.

Plants, cakes and jams, teas, teddy tombola, bouncy castle and more.

Jumble sale, Padworth Village Hall, 2pm, free.

In aid of St John the Baptist Church, Padworth.

Dance night, Royal British Legion, Newbury, 8pm to 11pm, £6.

Social dance with sequence, ballroom and Latin styles. Live music from Paul Hadley.

Sunday

Berkshire Motor Show 2023, Prospect Park, Reading, 10.30am to 5pm, free.

Classic vehicles on display as well as live music, history talks, medieval re-enactments, a dog show, craft stalls and plenty of food and drink. Supporting Berkshire Women’s Aid.

Opening of new playground, Chieveley Recreation Centre, 2pm, free.

The opening of the new accessible playground. Parking in the main car park or in the car park opposite the Village Hall at The Green if necessary.

Choral evensong, St Mary’s Church, Speen, 6pm, free.

Beautiful music followed by refreshments. All very welcome.

Monday

Handbell ringing taster session, St Mary’s Church, Thatcham, 7.30pm, free.

Come and find out more about handbell ringing. No previous musical experience necessary.

Wednesday

Afternoon tea, St Mary’s Church, 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
