Ian Porter, a professional historian and novelist, will be giving a talk which will cover the 100-year period of 1836 to 1936, charting the birth of the railway and how Thomas Cook used this to start the package travel industry.

Christmas Victorian Evening with a funfair, street entertainers, Father Christmas, Nativity scene, cart rides with Rudolph, The Rock Choir and much more.

Aldworth Christmas gifts market, Aldworth Village Hall, Bell Lane, 10.30am to 12pm.
Stalls include children’s books signing by local author Debi Evans, handbags, silk scarves and children’s knitted clothes, locally grown flowers and wreathes, homemade preserves and chutneys plus handmade cards and candles. As always, potluck fruit & vegetables, groceries, sweets plus tea bar refreshments with homemade mince pies and tea/coffee.
