This month’s speaker is Jeff Evans on TV quiz shows. He will speak for about 45 minutes. Tea and biscuits.
Mayor’s quiz night, Newbury Town Hall, 7pm, £10.
The mayor is inviting teams of up to six people to take part in the quiz. The event will raise funds for the Mayor’s nominated charity West Berkshire Homeless, which helps those without a home back into a home. Tickets include a charcuterie platter per team. BYOB. All About Dogs and Newbury Garden Show, Newbury Showground, April 13 and 14, day tickets £13.50, concession £13 and child £7.
A weekend packed with arena displays, expert advice, shopping and lots of have-a-go activities – and if you don’t have a dog, there’s plenty of fun for humans too. Parkinson’s UK Newbury branch walk for World Parkinson's Day, Victoria Park, 1pm for 2pm start, free.
A short walk around Victoria Park to the accompaniment of a kazoo band and handbells. The walk (one third of a mile) starts at 2pm.

Local food and artisan stalls, live music, street food, plants, cooking demonstration.

Newbury and District Transport Group meeting, Kennet School, Thatcham, 7.30pm to 10pm, free.
Stephen Bingley will be giving a presentation about freight trains in Britain during the past 10 years. Covering South Wales to the North East including our own Berks and Hants stone traffic. Refreshments and raffle.
Thursday
Charity coffee morning, St Nicolas Church Hall, 10am to noon.
In aid of Newbury Street Pastors. Cakes, bric-a-brac, raffle. Cash required.
