Week-long closure planned for Faraday Road in Newbury
A busy road on an industrial estate in Newbury town centre will be partially closed for a week next week.
A new service connection needs to be installed on Faraday Road between its junction with London Road and Kelvin Road.
This will be carried out by the OCU group.
At the same time, Scottish and Southern Power Distribution will be undertaking utility repair and maintenance works.
The closure will be from Monday, September 2, through to Friday, September 6.
West Berkshire Council says emergency services will continue to have access to the area.
It will still be possible to access part of the newly-named Bond Riverside industrial estate via Fleming Road, while Kelvin Road and Marconi Road can be accessed via footpaths.
The works come just after West Berkshire Council completes a project to ‘green-up’ spaces on Faraday Road.
The project sees parking bays converted into green spaces, with trees, shrubs and other plants installed.
This was funded by grants, making it cost neutral to the council.
