Walk-in booster hubs open this week in Newbury and Basingstoke

A walk-in Covid booster hub is in operation in Basingstoke for the rest of this week for residents ready for their third jab.

The hub will operate at Basingstoke Hospital from 10am to 4pm today (Wednesday), tomorrow and Friday this week.

This is due to lower take up of appointments and a high ‘no show’ rate – with approximately 25 per cent per day not turning up for their appointments.

The hub is open today (Wednesday), Thursday and Friday.

The hub is open to anyone who is eligible, and in addition the hub can now offer jabs to anyone aged 12 or over.

Walk in booster vaccines, as well as first and second jabs, are also available at the Kennet Centre today and tomorrow from 8.30am to 5.30pm.

Measures to reduce the spread of the virus remain in place, including staying at home if you feel unwell, getting a test if you experience any Covid symptoms, working from home where possible, and wearing a face covering in enclosed spaces.

Residents are encouraged to keep maintaining social distancing and to regularly wash their hands, as well as taking up the offer of the free vaccine.

Vaccinations are accessible via a local GP service, at a vaccination centre, some local pharmacies, and via a walk-in clinic.

If you need to cancel or move a vaccination appointment booked through the National Booking Service, visit the website or call 119.
