Hermitage Co-op targeted by thieves again




A Co-op store has been struck again by burglars.

The branch in Newbury Road, Hermitage, was targeted again sometime overnight - just two months after it was broken into.

Villagers awoke to find the shop with the front window and front door hanging off their frames.

A brick wall protecting the store was also left in pieces, after it appeared thieves ram-raided the branch.

Officers from Thames Valley Police are currently on the scene, and the force has been approached for comment.

The store was last targeted on the night of Monday, February 28, when thieves forced the front door and shutter open.

Two safes behind the tills were broken into, with the thieves making off with a large quantity of cash.
