US comedian Joan Rivers supports charity day at Highclere Castle
The American comedian and television presenter joined guests of the charity, Young Epilepsy, for special tours around Highclere Castle, a setting for the ITV period drama, Downton Abbey, after estate owners, the eighth Earl and Countess of Carnarvon opened up their home to raise funds for the charity.
Joan Rivers said: “On my visit to Highclere Castle, I was introduced to Young Epilepsy, which is a wonderful UK charity for children and young people.
"Please try and help them. I had a fabulous time and was so pleased to be able to support them. ”
Guests were welcomed into the library, followed by a tour of the main state rooms and bedrooms, as featured in the television programme. They were then joined by Lord and Lady Carnarvon, who gave a talk on life at the world-famous estate.
