Charlie and the Chocolate Factory brought to life on stage by pupils from Trinity School, Newbury




Trinity School brought Roald Dahl’s beloved story to the stage with its production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, writes Ace Beattie.

The musical delighted audiences for three sell-out nights, where visitors included the mayor of Thatcham and the mayor of Newbury.

Years 7 to 13 all took part in the show, showcasing a wide range of talented young actors.

More than 200 students performed to family as well as pupils from local primary schools.

The “vibrant set, wonderful costumes and perfect singing” gave the audience a replenished love for the tale.

Dr Charlotte Wilson, Trintiy’s executive headteacher, said: “The students and staff have worked incredibly hard to bring this story to life, the audience laughed along with the characters and special effects all evening.
