Transformers sale fetches £15,288, double the estimate at Newbury auction

The Toys for the Collector sale that included 63 lots of Transformers that had been in an attic for 20 years went well yesterday at Newbury auction house Special Auction Services.

They sold for £15,288 - double the estimate.

All 63 lots were sold - the top lot was 499 a Vintage Milton Bradley Transformers G1 Autobot Sunswipe which sold for £3,380.

SAS specialist Dominic Foster says, "This collection really was one of a kind and was a dream for collectors worldwide. The results show the strength of plastic toys dating from the 70s to the 90s - people are buying their childhoods back."
