Trains from Newbury station cancelled this morning and lines flooded
UPDATE: GWR has said that disruption due to the flooding on the railway at Newbury, which has blocked some lines, is expected until the end of the day.
Currently, train services between Reading and Newbury are being cancelled or revised and are not stopping at Newbury.
The station is open but trains are unable to stop there and all GWR services are calling, terminating and starting from Newbury Racecourse station.
Rail replacement taxis are operating between Newbury Racecourse and Newbury station.
Services between Newbury and Bedwyn may be diverted via Newbury Racecourse too.
UPDATE: Train services through Newbury are continuing to be cancelled this morning (Monday) as flooding affects lines across the country.
The 10.22am to Bedwyn, the 11.16am to Exeter, the 11.24am to Paddington and the 11.29am to Bedwyn have all be cancelled.
Trains arriving from Paddington and Reading have been delayed, while other services coming from Plymouth, Paddington and Bedwyn have also been cancelled.
Services are running to and from Newbury Racecourse and a minibus is running between that station and Newbury’s town centre station at present.
GWR has apologised for the disruption and advised everyone to check before travelling today.
“Due to servere weather yesterday and overnight, we have had to suspended or reduced train services on several routes due to flooding and fallen trees blocking the railway,” it added.
“There is flooding affecting several locations along our mainline between Reading and Taunton and our diversionary routes via Bristol are also affected by flooding.
“When the flood water recedes Network Rail need to carry out an examination of the lines to check for any damage that may have been caused.”
Tickets for today will be accepted tomorrow (Tuesday) 26 November, including on peak services.
You can also claim a refund if you don’t want to travel.

GWR has already cancelled the 8.13am service to Bedwyn, the 8.19am and 8.40am trains to London Paddington and the 9.26am to Westbury.
Further delays and cancellations are expected as the network copes with flooding across the country.
