Accident causing gridlock on the A34

UPDATE: This incident has now cleared

An accident, involving two cars, is causing long delays on the A34 this morning (Monday).

There are reports of queueing traffic for several miles on the southbound carriageway between the A4183 Oxford Road and A4130 (Milton Interchange).

Delays are around 25 minutes and the average speed is down to 5mph.

On the northbound carriageway, between the A4130 (Milton Interchange) and A415 Marcham Road (Marcham Interchange) there is an average speed 25 mph, with delays of around 5 minutes.

Normal road conditions are expected within an hour.

There is also one lane blocked on the M4, westbound, between Chieveley and Hungerford.
