Toilet spy camera boss is named

He is 61-year-old Anthony John Parish, of Bath Road, Thatcham.
Mr Parish installed a miniature, hidden camera in the ladies’ toilet, with a live feed direct to his office at the Newbury firm where he was general manager, town magistrates heard.
His identity had to be withheld in a previous report, in order to protect the identity of his victims.
Now, in an unusual step, the women have come forward to waive their right to anonymity and to speak of the devastating impact on their lives.
This means that, although Newburytoday.co.uk has agreed not to directly identify them, the case can now be reported fully.
At the previous hearing Helen Waite, prosecuting, said Mr Parish installed a miniature camera in the ladies’ toilets of the firm where he worked by drilling a hole in a ceiling tile.
She added: “This is a very unpleasant case...a gross breach of trust. It would appear that the camera footage was available for both live viewing and retaining for viewing later.”
But one of his victims spotted it and called police, the court heard.
Officers raided the home of the married father of grown-up children and removed a range of high tech, electronic equipment and computer storage discs, magistrates were told.
Ms Waite said: “He told police it was his intention to view what was going on in the ladies’ cubicle from his office for his own sexual gratification.”
Magistrates were handed victim impact statements from two female employees who spoke of their “embarrassment and distress” at their bosses’ actions.
Mr Parish admitted one offence of voyeurism for sexual gratification.
Andrew Storch, defending, said his client was a happily married man who had raised a family, hitherto without a blemish on his reputation.
He said the tiny device installed in the toilet was a bird box camera with which his client had initially intended to watch fledglings in a nest.
Mr Storch added: “This has had an enormous effect on his wife, who is in a terrible state - but she is sticking by him. The police thanked him for his honesty in interview. You can imagine his extreme shame...he is extremely remorseful and stressed.”
Mr Parish has since resigned from the Newbury firm, the court heard.
Magistrates adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports to be prepared and on Tuesday, December 2, he was sentenced to a community order and ordered to pay £250 compensation to both victims.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs plus a statutory surcharge of £60.
In addition, Mr Parish was ordered to sign on the Sex Offenders Register for five years and made subject to a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order restricting his use of making and storing digital images.
Afterwards, his victims told the Newbury Weekly News: “We wanted him to be named and shamed for what he has done to us and for what (his actions) continue to do to us, mentally and emotionally.”
One added: “I worked for Tony for eight years, my colleague for two-and-a-half years. We have both received counselling from the company and have also moved offices, as the thought of what had happened there was too sordid to live with.”
