Thornford Park Hospital wins national award
THORNFORD Park Hospital has won a prestigious award in a national competition which celebrates patient-led achievements.
The hospital, based at Crookham Common, beat off competition from more than 100 nominees to take top prize at the The National Service User Awards.
The awards, held at Silverstone Racing Circuit’s Wing Hall, were to showcase the innovation, drive and dedication of those in secure care across the country.
A number of projects from the hospital were nominated for awards, including the hospital’s choir and band, and a patient-led business enterprise.
Thornford Park’s business enterprise was named overall winner in the “Community, Social or Vocational Initiative” category,
The hospital’s band and choir was nominated in a live poll to win the patient opinion award, but was pipped at the post.
