The Thames Valley Coalition of Motorcycle Clubs raise £2,250 for charity

LOCAL bikers have raised £2,250 for charity during 2024.

The Thames Valley Coalition of Motorcycle Clubs (TVC), which has branches in Newbury, Thatcham, north Hampshire, Reading and beyond, accomplished this through selling raffle tickets with donated prizes from each one, organizing ride-out events and participating in various other gatherings throughout the year.

The cash will be divided between TVC’s chosen charities this year including the Ollie Young Foundation, Bikers Against Child Abuse and the National Association of Bikers With Disabilities.

TVC member Paul Nicholas said: “As we all know, unfortunately, motorcycle clubs often get a bad reputation through various platforms.

“However, when you see us out in groups, please consider that this is not the case.

“More often than not, the group of bikers are on a mission to raise money for one or more charities.

“This has been our case throughout the years.”

The TVC comprises several motorcycle clubs, including: HAMC Wessex, Fukarwe MC, Savages MC, 20-22 Savage Support Crew, Baphomet Brotherhood, Wolfriders MC, Take A Chance, Moctar RC, Reading Mag (motorcycle action group), BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) and the White Knights.

Mr Nicholson added: “As a coalition, we have been raising money for various charities for over 20 years.

“So, if you see us out and about in a large group, please consider that we are either showing our respects to a fallen friend, family member, or member of the biking world, or we are raising money to support the local community.

“Don’t be afraid to come and introduce yourself; we always enjoy meeting like-minded people.”
