Thatcham Costa gets go ahead for expansion





The franchise owner submitted a change of use application for the empty unit next door, in a bid to extend its seating area. He also asked to have tables outside.
All aspects of the application were approved by West Berkshire Council last week.
The coffee shop already occupies a double corner site at the Broadway entrance of the centre.
Some residents and traders objected to Costa expanding, saying it could kill off the independent cafés and that the town needed a better variety of shops to attract more people into the town.
