Thatcham bin fire suspected arson




Bin blaze at end of driveway

A BIN fire in Thatcham yesterday evening (Tuesday) was put down to a suspected arson.

One fire engine from Newbury was called at 11.30am to Dunston Road, where a green recycling bin at the end of a driveway was well alight.

No-one was hurt.

A firefighter extinguished the fire using a hosereel.

The bin was destroyed in the blaze.

The incident was recorded as a suspected arson by the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS).

Firefighters left the scene at 11.50pm.
