Aston James from Newbury ordered to compensate assault victim

A TEENAGER has been sentenced for assault.
Aston James appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 27.
At a previous hearing the 18-year-old, of Craven Dene, Newbury, admitted assaulting Rich Johnson by beating him in Newbury on January 17.
James, who was legally represented by Heulwen Everton, was made subject to an 18-month community order and required to complete 80 hours of unpaid community work.
In addition, district judge Davinder Sandhu ordered him to pay £85 costs.
Finally, James was required to pay Mr Johnson £50 in compensation in lieu of an otherwise statutory victim services surcharge.
