Tadley man wins tablet at AWE exhibition
A TADLEY man won a tablet computer after entering into a competition organised by the Atomic Weapons Establishment based at Aldermaston last month.
Tim Oliver, a systems analyst, won the tablet after entering a prize draw at Tadley Treacle Fair held on May 31 where AWE held an information exhibition.
Around 350 local residents attended the AWE stand at the event, according to organisers, which provided information on the atomic weapons manufacturer’s projects.
AWE event organiser Michele Maidment said: “AWE is committed to being a good neighbour and working with the local community.
“The staff who attended this event really enjoyed meeting local residents and telling them about the great work we do at AWE.”
Tim, who picked up his tablet week this week, said: “I was pleasantly surprised by what I learned about AWE at the fair.
“I think it’s really great that AWE attended the Tadley event, because this helps residents like me, know more about what AWE does.”
Following on from the Tadley exhibition, AWE will next host a community showcase event at the Burghfield Recreational Society at James Lane on June 27, offering the chance for local residents to learn more about their work.
