Thames Valley Police arrest Thatcham suspect in Beenham gunman case




A MAN has been arrested in connection with the case of the Beenham gunman.

The 37-year-old, from Thatcham, was detained today, Thursday, March 24.

Two males, one brandishing what appeared to be an air rifle, were spotted around 4pm on Tuesday afternoon, March 21 in Stoneyfield, shooting pigeons on the surrounding rooftops.

Beenham Primary School went into lockdown as a result.

Local Policing Area Commander for West Berkshire, Supt Zahid Aziz, said today: "This investigation is ongoing and I would like to reassure the community that there is no evidence to suggest a wider risk to the public.

"For additional reassurance, however, officers have been patrolling the area of Beenham since the incident was reported, and will continue to do so over the coming days
