Grant
Hollywood stars have been spotted hanging out in West Berkshire.
Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg even popped along to the set of The Thursday Murder Club, which is currently in filming in Englefield.
He was photographed outside St Mark’s Church, in the village, which is also where Pippa Middleton – the Princess of Wales’ sister – got married in 2017.
The film – based on the best-selling book by Richard Osman – is being made by Netflix and Amblin Partners, the film and TV studio led by Mr Spielberg.
Filming is currently taking place in the grounds of Englefield House.
It stars a host of famous faces, including Helen Mirren, former 007 Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie, former Doctor Who David Tennant and Richard E Grant.
It is written and directed by Chris Columbus, who also directed Home Alone, Mrs Doubtfire and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and follows a group of friends in a retirement home who usually just meet to solve murders for fun, but find themselves caught up in a real case.
The book’s author, Richard Osman – who was also in Englefield recently to meet Mr Spielberg – said: “I'm so proud of this book, so it is a dream to see The Thursday Murder Club in such incredible hands.
“From Chris Columbus, to Amblin to Netflix, there are geniuses everywhere I look. And what a cast. I'm pinching myself.”
The date for the release of the film has not yet been revealed but it is thought it will be on both Netflix and in cinemas.
