Sneak peek inside the new Slug and Lettuce in Newbury
Exclusive pictures inside Wharf Street venue after £450,000 refit
The new Slug and Lettuce bar has opened in Wharf Street following a £450,000 refurbishment.
The swanky new venue replaces the Hogs Head and served its first customers at 5pm today (Tuesday) – but our photographer Phil Cannings took some pictures beforehand to give you an exclusive glimpse inside Newbury's latest addition to the high street.
The Slug and Lettuce is headed up by general manager Claire Turner and will create 20 new jobs for both front and back of house.
Experienced staff will be on hand to guide groups of friends through cocktail masterclasses, and the menu will combine foreign flavours with the best of British, offering everything from Moroccan lamb to Thai-style noodles and even alcoholic ice-cream.
An official launch party will take place on May 7, where guests can sample the new food and drinks menu.
