Still time to join Thatcham’s 10k charity race in April




There is still time to take part in Thatcham’s 10k charity run.

The event is returning on April 6 after a successful inaugural event sold out with 250 entries last year.

This year’s race starts at 10am at the Lower Way Playing Fields in Thatcham.

And 350 tickets are up for grabs, with a junior section expected to run too.

The event is being organised in aid of mayor of Thatcham Suzanne Adamantos’ chosen charities Thatcham Youth and Cruse Bereavement Support.

The Nature Discovery Centre will receive a donation for providing parking and access to the lakes.

Newbury Soup Kitchen and West Berks Foodbank will also be in attendance.

Visit www.thatcham10k.co.uk to sign up now. Entry costs £22 – or £20 for UK affiliated runners.

The race is organised by race director Ben Schiffer-Harte (Lib Dem, Thatcham North East), with support from Thatcham Town Council.

Last year's chosen charities and partners received more than £3,150.

Roots Estate Agency were the winning corporate team.

The race receives continued support from sponsors Roots Estate Agency, Bella Luna Restaurant and Howden Insurance (Thatcham branch).

It has also secured sponsorship with the English Provender Company.
