A34 closed at M3 after serious crash
UPDATE: The road has now reopened.
The A34 remains closed this morning (Saturday) after a serious crash earlier.
The closure area has been increased and traffic is heavy across the whole area.
The road is closed southbound between the A272 near Three Maids Hill and the junction with the M3, near Winnall due to a serious collision involving a tree.
Emergency services remain on the scene.
A diversion is in place and motorists are being advised to follow the solid triangle diversion symbol on road signs.
From the A34 southbound, motorists are being forced to leave at the Bullington Cross Interchange.
There is no access to the A34 from the Basingtoke Road southbound.
National Highways has said it doesn’t expect the road to reopen until around 4.15pm this evening.
