Serial shoplifter Darren Wooldridge targeted Newbury and Thatcham stores




A MAN is awaiting sentence for a shoplifting spree.

Darren Wooldridge appeared in the dock at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, April 2.

The 53-year-old, of Chapel Street, Thatcham, admitted five counts of theft from stores.

Wooldridge pleaded guilty to stealing food products from Tesco in Northfield Road, Thatcham, on January 4.

Next he admitted stealing £33 worth of chocolate from Sainsbury’s in Coombe square, Thatcham, on November 6 last year.

Third, he pleaded guilty to stealing goods worth £60 from B&M in London Road, Newbury, on February 10.

Next, Wooldridge admitted stealing £32 worth of meat from Waitrose in Thatcham on February 19.

Finally, he pleaded guilty to stealing goods worth £27.96 from the same store on february 20.

Magistrates ordered pre-sentence reports.

They stipulated these should be prepared on an ‘all options’ basis, including custody.

Wooldridge, who was legally represented by Simon Hammudi, was meanwhile released on conditional bail.
