Spurcroft School in Thatcham receives deposit from Chancellors estate agents
A THATCHAM School has received help to buy a new outdoor classroom from an estate agents.
Spurcroft Primary School’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) (Friends of Spurcroft) received a cheque for £340 from estate agents Chancellors on Tuesday, July 13.
The money will go towards a new outdoor classroom for all year groups at the Spurcroft Road school.
Chancellors offered the sponsorship to the school in return for families displaying their advertising boards across Thatcham. Vice chairwoman of the PTA Carly Chandler and procurement officer Steve Curtis-Read accepted the cheque from Phillip Redmond from Chancellors.
Mr Curtis-Read said: "In a year when PTA events and activities have been reduced due to Covid-19 restrictions the funds will be a much needed boost and will be put towards the PTA’s ongoing target to build a new outdoor classroom for the pupils, which is planning to be completed during the October half term and then available to be used by all years from then on."
Deputy headteacher Jo Philp said: "We are so excited to be installing an outdoor classroom at Spurcroft and are so grateful for the donations we have received. Over the past few years we have been continuing to improve our outdoor environment to support our children’s learning outside of the classroom and this will be another excellent addition to our school.
"As always, we are so grateful to our Friends of Spurcroft team who do such a brilliant job of fundraising and supporting our children and families too."
