The Clere School donates more than 200 Christmas presents to local children in need

The Clere School community decided to start a collection for local children that would be distributed by the YMCA through its ‘Everyone deserves a gift for Christmas scheme’.

The collection was organised by Corinne King, the school’s head of PE, as she has a friend for works for the YMCA.

She knew that the school community would love to get involved, but was still overwhelmed with the amount of support it received with teachers, pupils, parents and staff all chipping in.

Corinne dropped off the collection of more than 200 presents – that were wrapped with help from The Clere’s PTA – to the YMCA on December 18 before they were delivered to those in need along with food bundles on December 23, just in time for Christmas.

She described the collection as an “incredible achievement for our school”.
