Indulge hair salon, in Wash Common, celebrates seven prizes at the British Hair and Beauty Awards

A Wash Common hair salon is celebrating after scooping a magnificent seven prizes at the British Hair and Beauty Awards.

Kate Joplin, salon owner of Indulge Hairdressing, said her team were “beyond thrilled” with the result, which was announced live on YouTube.

The salon knew they had been shortlisted for some of the awards but were automatically put through to the UK-wide category in three of them – which they also went on to win.

After a rigorous selection process, which included providing supporting evidence for each category, two judging panels and mystery secret shopper reports, Indulge were crowned Hair Salon of the Year, Best Workplace Environment, Top Rated Salon of the Year and Excellence in Customer Service for the South East of England.

They then went on to be named UK Hair Salon of the Year, UK Best Marketing of the Year and UK Best Workplace Environment.

Mrs Joplin, who opened the salon in 2014, said: “It was quite nerve-wracking as the awards just came up on the screen but it was great and we won seven awards which was amazing.

“We all watched in our own homes but kept in touch throughout the ceremony.

“We were going to celebrate by going out after but now I think an even bigger celebration is in store.

“We will be celebrating in the salon all month too, with lots of treats for our clients, including prosecco and ice creams.”

Mrs Joplin said she has already begun planning a secret celebration for her team of 10 stylists, who have now racked up a total of 39 awards.

“Thank you to everyone for their support over the years,” she added. “It has been amazing and there’s more to come from us here at Indulge.”
