Sainsbury's Tadley branch teams up with children's charity

Action for Children's Home Tree Children's Centre to benefit for the year

A CHILDREN’S centre based in Tadley is set for a fundraising boost after the local Sainsbury’s branch named it as its charity partner for the year.

The charity, Action for Children’s Home Tree Children’s Centre, and Sainsbury’s Tadley, in Mulfords Hill, recently celebrated their new partnership with an in-store awareness day.

Customers met staff from the children’s centre, which is based at Tadley Community Centre in Newchurch Road, and learned more about the charity’s work, while their children were
entertained with a treasure hunt, colouring session and lucky
dip.

“It’s fantastic to be working so closely with Sainsbury’s and to be able to meet customers in the community,” said Action for Children fundraiser, Kim Appleby.

“There is a whole host of playtime activities on offer at Home Tree, all free for under-fives and led by our experienced team – they’ll help your children learn while having fun.”

The Home Tree centre became Sainsbury’s Tadley new Local Charity of the Year in July, after customers had the chance to vote for their favourite from a
shortlist put together by the store.

“We really enjoyed hosting Home Tree Children’s Centre’s Awareness Day and look forward to an exciting year-long partnership with them,” said Jane Hartnup, store manager at Sainsburys’ Tadley. “It was wonderful to see many of our customers becoming aware of the services they provide.”

With 11 children’s centres across the North Hampshire area, Action for Children provides a variety of free services for families with children under five.

These include play and learn, health clinics, emotional support and adult learning information and courses.
