Restaurant retains Michelin star

The Harrow at Little Bedwyn has retained its Michelin star for the sixth successive year

THE Harrow at Little Bedwyn is celebrating after retaining its Michelin star for the sixth successive year.

The Wiltshire restaurant, which in September 2010 was also crowned the prestigious AA Restaurant of the Year for England, is the only local restaurant to feature in the Michelin Guide 2012, which has been released earlier than usual this year.

Meanwhile, The Vineyard at Stockcross – a high profile winner in recent years - has missed out again this year.

The owners at The Harrow at Little Bedwyn, Sue and Roger Jones, were first awarded the coveted Michelin star in 2007 and Mr Jones said yesterday (Thursday) that they were delighted to have retained it again this year.

He said: “It gets harder each year and by seeing those who didn't get in, we can see where the level is.

“The quality of food [across the country] is getting better and better.”

Mr Jones attributed the restaurant's success to the dedication and professionalism of its small team and the loyalty and enthusiasm of its customers.

“It is everything,” he said, adding that the restaurant's continued success was down to “a great team effort.”
