Residents’ views sought on buses across West Berkshire
You wait ages for a survey on buses and, well, only one comes at once.
West Berkshire Council is seeking residents’ views on public transport across the borough.
Responses will help inform its Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), which will form part of its partnership with bus operating companies.
Questions in the survey include how satisfied residents are, how often they catch buses to travel, and what could be done to improve services.
It aims to capture how often people catch a bus in West Berkshire, and the reasons why people wouldn’t use it, such as they consider it too expensive, they have difficulty catching a bus, the times don’t work, or they consider the bus stops to be in the wrong location for them.
It is also possible to rank a range of options from very satisfied to very dissatisfied, such as value for money, punctuality, information about services, and how long people have to wait for services.
And people are also asked if they are aware of a range of tickets and prices, such as the £2 single fare cap, group tickets or tap-on, tap-off payment plans.
Customers can also say if they would take advantage of free travel on special occasions such as Christmas.
The council says it should take around 10 minutes to complete, and is open until midnight on Sunday, September 8.
Responses will be confidential.
