Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks reports power cut affecting West Berkshire




A power cut has affected large areas of West Berkshire with many households having been without full power throughout the weekend.

Scottish & Southern Electricity Networks have reported that the postcode area RG18 has been affected since 1.15pm on Thursday, April 7, when the outage was reported.

Engineers are on site to solve the problem with the power provider hoping that power will be restored to the area by 10pm tonight, Sunday April 10.

Norman Lockley of Bucklebury Alley in Cold Ash had his boiler, kitchen and living room power shut off by the provider while they attempt to deal with the power cut.

Frilsham has been severely affected, with 270 homes being disconnected from the network. The Frilsham Clubroom is currently being used as an emergency community base.

Other towns and villages in the affected area include Thatcham, Hermitage, Cold Ash, Hampstead Norreys and Yattendon.
