Tadley Health and Fitness Centre swimming pool to re-open on December 21 following upgrade project

The swimming pool at Tadley Health and Fitness Centre will re-open tomorrow (Saturday) ahead of schedule following an extensive refurbishment project.

The pool closed on November 4 so that upgrade work could be carried out to the pool’s movable floor and various other areas of the facility.

It wasn’t expected to re-open until the New Year, but the works have been completed early and the pool will be available for use during the school holidays.

Basingstoke and Deane councillor Kerry Morrow (Lib Dem, Tadley North, Kingsclere Baughurst) said: “I am delighted that the essential work to upgrade the movable floor in the swimming pool at Tadley Health and Fitness Centre has been completed ahead of schedule.

“We know what a valuable facility this is to the people of Tadley and the surrounding areas, which is why this investment to ensure the smooth running of the swimming pool for years to come was so important.

“There was never going to be a good time to close the pool for a number of weeks, but we have worked hard with Basingstoke and Deane Community Leisure Trust and the specialist contractor to minimise the disruption to users.

“I would like to thank members and users for their patience during the closure and hope they will be pleased to get back into the pool earlier than anticipated.”

While the pool was closed, the centre team carried out a range of upgrade work, including repairs to poolside tiling, regrouting in the showers, and installing new lighting around the swimming pool and in the communal shower areas.

The pool has also benefited from a thorough deep clean.

To celebrate the re-opening, Tadley Health and Fitness Centre are offering new customers the chance to join now and pay nothing till February 1.

There will also be a pool party tomorrow which will feature a visit from Santa Claus. Existing customers will be able to take advantage of a series of new offers that are also being launched.
