Police appeal after attempted theft of cash point
Offenders leave Lower Basildon petrol station empty handed
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after the attempted theft of a cash point in Lower Basildon in the early hours of this morning.
At around 3am today (Tuesday), offenders attempted to access the cash point at Basildon Filling Station in Reading Road.
The offenders left the scene before officers arrived.
No one was injured and nothing was stolen.
The petrol station is currently closed in order for forensic work to be completed and is expected to reopen shortly.
There were at least two offenders involved, men wearing jumpsuits / boiler suits and gloves and hats.
A scene watch is in place and officers are in the area making enquiries.
