Plans for 15-metre tall 5G mast to be installed in Kingsclere

Plans for a 5G telecoms installation to be built in Kingsclere have been submitted to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.

The 15-metre tall mast and associated works would be located on the east side of the B3051, between its junctions with the A339 and Fawconer Road.

The installation would provide “improved network coverage and capacity” in the area.

The plans have already garnered a mixture of responses from local residents.

Amanda Keable said: “I do not believe this will make any difference to the local area which already has very good communications and infrastructure.

“It will be the first thing seen when driving into the village from the A339 and is out of keeping with the area.”

Another objector, Samuel Rebbettes, said: “Kingsclere is a lovely village, and having a 15m tall mast immediately when entering the village is completely inappropriate and not at all in line with the village feel within Kingsclere.”

But Richard Smith supported the plans. He said: “[The] location is ideal and it will benefit the local economy by giving improved communications.”

The complete planning application can be viewed on the Basingstoke and Deane planning portal at reference 23/01163/TENO.
