Pip pip! Apple Day today in Newbury town centre

Things will get juicy in Newbury Market Place today (Saturday) as the town hosts its ninth Apple Day.

Residents are invited to bring along their apples and turn them into juice, and there is also an abundance of homemade apple cakes and goodies for sale.

There are opportunities to find out about Newbury’s community orchards and to taste heritage apple varieties, while there are apple experts on hand to help identify apples from residents’ own trees.

The event is taking place today from 9am to 3.30pm.

It is being held for the first time in two years after last year’s was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is organised by community conservation charity Common Ground and Growing Newbury Green.
