Person rescued from three-vehicle crash on A34 yesterday (Monday)




Firefighters rescued one person from a vehicle involved in a road traffic collision on the A34 yesterday (Monday).

The three-vehicle collision happened on the A34 northbound between the junction with the M4 and A4185.

The Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the collision on the carriageway near Chieveley at 12.31pm.

Crews from Newbury and Whitley Wood fire stations were sent to the scene, alongside the Animal and Water Rescue Unit.

Upon arrival, crews found a collision involving two cars and a lorry.

Firefighters rescued one person from a vehicle, before placing them into the care of South Central Ambulance Service.

Crews were on the scene for around two hours and five minutes.

The road was closed northbound and congestion built up southbound for a number of hours as emergency services attended the scene.
