West Berkshire’s population has increased by 4.9 per cent




Five facts about West Berkshire’s population.

1: Based on the 2021 Census, the population size of West Berkshire has increased by 4.9 per cent from 153,800 in 2011 to 161,400 in 2021.

2: Between 2011 and 2021, there has been an 8.6 per cent increase in children and young people aged under 15 compared with a five per cent increase in England over the same period

3: There are now 85,659 people aged 0-19 and 65,361 people aged 65 and over.

4: Among those aged 65 and over, 14,705 were aged 75 and over and 4,045 were aged 85 and over.

5: By 2033, the number of people aged 85 and over is projected to increase to around 6,825.
