UPDATE, 2.30pm: The fault is now resolved and anyone wishing to attend the household waste recycling centres must now book online as before.
West Berkshire Council says it is having technical issues with its household waste recycling centre booking system.
So in the meantime, it says residents can visit sites without booking until the issue is resolved.
But they are being asked to only make the one trip without booking to minimise queues at the sites.
Users are finding that the system is either crashing or timing out.
“We are working with our suppliers to resolve the issue as soon as we can,” the council tweeted. “And we apologise for any inconvenience.”
